How far along are you? 13w
What symptoms are you experiencing? Grumpy! I'm eating constantly and all I want is pizza and spicy food. I hope I don't gain 500 lbs this pregnancy.
How are you feeling? see above
Any appointments this past week and how did they go? Had one yesterday. Heard a strong heartbeat. Was relieved my doctor told me to hold off on getting the H1N1 vaccine. Their office has it, but he said to wait another month and then we'll see.
Anything big happening in your personal life (moving, work related, family, etc)? Yes. I've had a home daycare for the last year so I could stay home with my son. Well, it turns out that I don't really care for kids that don't belong to me. I care even less for the crappy parents I've had to deal with. So I'm going back to my old job where I will work half the hours and make the same amount of money. And the best part is, my schedule is completely flexible, I can work whenever I want whatever hours I want. I won't have to get a babysitter, it will either be my husband or g-ma watching him. I'm a little anxious about going back to work out of the house, but it will be ok.
( bumpity bump )

How far along are you? 10w
What symptoms are you experiencing? Most of my nausea is gone. I ate a bunch today, even a sweet treat! I still have an aversion to sweets, but I think I may be back to my old cookie eating self again ;)
How are you feeling? I have had more energy in the last few days, finally! I can't sleep whenever I want to like I did my first pregnancy.
Any appointments this past week and how did they go? I had an US last Thursday, then back today. Why appointments 4 days apart? Well because the front office staff at my OB's is dumb. I told her to go further out it was fine (you know around 12 weeks when people usually come in), but she didn't listen. So I get to go back in 3 weeks :\ My doctor wants to see my safely out of my first trimester since I had 2 previous miscarriages. I will go to the doctor 3 more times before the end of the year :\
Anything big happening in your personal life (moving, work related, family, etc)? Nothing
Any Belly pics from this week? I haven't taken any. I was so on top of it with my first and now I've lost all motivation :\
Induction was already brought up today. First by the nurse then I talked to the doctor about it. I went naturally with my son 2 weeks early and he was 8lbs 9oz. I'm not a big girl. I'm 5'6 1/2" and weighed 132 before getting pregnant. They are concerned that the baby "will be too big." I have no desire to get induced and have a greater risk of having a C-Section. I will continue to make my wishes clear. The doctor said we will just see how it goes. I don't want to worry about this the whole time :\

Today I found out it's baby makes 4! Daddy doesn't know yet, I will spring it on him later this week. I'm a little nervous since I had a miscarriage last month and two before I had Kaiden. I will call the doctor tomorrow and wait and see.
This also may explain why I was capable of committing homicide on Saturday (I was in a horribly foul mood.)

Your Child's name/Your Name: Kaiden/Deanna
What is your child's favorite food group? Cheese and Pretzle food group ;)
Talk about potty training? (started? scared? etc) He will go all day long if he is naked without any problems. But as soon as something (Pull-ups or "big boy pants") touches him, he pee's in them. The other day he did just randomly pull his pull-up down and go potty. I leave him naked a lot and am not totally sure what if anything I need to do to get him to understand to pull his pants off when he has to potty.
What is currently your biggest parenting challenge? I have a severe lack of imagination :( He's getting to that point and I want to be able to play with him. I'm not very good at the playing stuff. I know I need to do it more. I feel a lot of days I don't interact with him enough.
Any fun plans for the weekend? My mom is in town, so I will be hanging out over at my grandparents.
Would you like to share some pics w/us? Cut and paste below!

Not once, but twice I caught you playing in the toilet today. The first time, I suppose you were cleaning it with a piece of toilet paper and the second time, there were 2 deoderants, daddy's medicine and a box of Kleenex floating in it.
Besides playing in it, you are becoming interested in using the potty. You'll say "pee" which it's usually too late, then i'll take your diaper off and you'll go sit on your potty. Yesterday I left your diaper off while I took a shower and was greeted with two piles of poo when I got out. Today you told me "pee" and I didn't believe you but took your diaper off and you immediately peed on the floor. We have a long way to go :)

I haven't updated in a long time (bad mommy!)
You are 17 months old. You are so much fun. I'm starting to like to just "hang out" with you. I love to watch you play, you are starting to use your imagination, like playing with the play kitchen. The other day you went from the "sink" over to Lily's paws, you did that a couple times back and forth until I realized what you were doing, you were "washing" her paws.
You finally love books. You bring us books to read all day long, I love it! I remember a time when all you would do was chew on them. One of your favorite books is "Moo Baa La La La." you also like the lift flap books, but have destroyed a lot of them. It makes me so mad when you tear up books.
You are completely obsessed with Elmo (Melmo as you call him) right now. I think we hear "Melmo" about 500 times a day. You are starting to try to sing the Elmo theme song and it is hilarious.
You don't get into a lot of trouble, but right now you love to turn the t.v. on and off. We tell you no, but guess what your a toddler, so by right you have to keep doing it.
Pa thinks you are either going to be a janitor or a trash man. You love to play with mops and brooms. You also love to throw stuff away.
We just had to stay at Ne and Pa's house for two days because our heat went out. It go fixed on Christmas Eve. I was so happy. I can't wait to wake up with you on Christmas morning in our own house and open up presents.
Tonight we went to Nana and Pop's house for Christmas.
When ever we get close to someone's house, you start calling out there name. We've only been to nana's a few times, and you knew where we were when we pulled up in the driveway. You are so smart.
Sleep: Bedtime has become somewhat of an issue. You used to be ready for bed at 8. Now, I struggle to get you in bed by 9:30. You are finally starting to sleep through the night. I put you in the spare room on the futon so I can lay down with you, which is about the only way you will fall asleep. We plan on getting you a mattress and boxspring soon and turning your crib into a big boy bed.
Eating: You eat pretty well. You do great feeding yourself. You can even eat yogurt by yourself without any problems. It's hilarious: if you get anything on your hands or spill something on you, you freak out. You must be your moms kid (I couldn't stand to be dirty or have dirty hands, still can't). You love spagetti. Not much of a breakfast fan. You will not eat eggs. Your favorite snack is gold fish, you are always asking for some "ish."
Words: Mommy (ami), Daddy (addi), Lily (alli), mamaw (amaw), Papaw (apaw), Ne, Pa, Nana.
Banana (nana), cheese (eese), fish (ish), more (moe), ball (ba), bird (boe), eat, no (of course, hear this one a few times a day ;), yeah, done (duh), hello (woe). I know there is more, but it's 2 a.m. and I'm getting too tired to think.
Everytime you hear a phone ring you say hello.
I wish I could write everything that you do. I'm so afraid that as the years go on, I will forget all these moments. I know I can't remember everything. You learn so much everyday. I love to watch you grow and learn.
Posted on 2008.08.31 at 21:21
I only caught you out of the corner of my eye, but you took a couple of steps today! I wish I could have seen the whole thing. Looks like it won't be too much longer before you are taking off.
You started saying E I E I O. It is soo cute. It sounds like "yie yoe" And of course what else comes with EIO but "mooing"
I love you soo much!

Baby's Name: What are your baby's top 5 favorite things (besides mom/dad!): 1. balls
2. Lily
3. Water
4. Food
5. boobies
What are some of your best memories from this first year?: There are too many to list. This was such an amazing year. They learn something new daily. It is just amazing to watch him learn and become aware of everything around him. I still remember him learning how to pick his head up off the floor, being exicited when he rolled over, being even more excited when he rolled over the other way, sitting up...it goes on. It's been challenging, but I wouldn't give the experience of being a mom up for the world!
If you could do it all over again (as some of you are!), would you do anything differently? Yes, but I don't have that opportunity, so I will just have to trust that I did the best with what I knew (which wasn't much :)
How are YOU?: Good. May be starting a home child care in a few months, so that is exciting and scary.

Fireworks were tonight. You and I went to the Haynes Apperson Festival and shared an elephant ear. I decided we would stick around and attempt to watch the fireworks even though it was way past your 8:00 bedtime. I was afraid the loud noise would scare you, but it didn't. You were interested at first; pointing at them and clapping. It didn't last very long before you were ready to get home and go to sleep. Maybe next year they will be able to hold your interest longer.

Baby's Name: Kaiden
How old is Baby now?: 10 months 2 weeks
What is Baby up to these days?: "Talking" on the phone. Everything is a phone, socks, remote controls, his hand. He puts whatever it may be up to his ear and that's your cue to say hello. Playing patty cake and rolling them up, can't get him to throw them away yet ;) Getting pretty sturdy on his feet, not standing or walking yet, but not holding on as tight any more.
Tell us about your plans for baby's 1st birthday: Cookout at my grandparents. I plan to get a baby pool and dip him in that after the cake eating. I'm excited about the summer birthdays.
What has been your biggest challenge as a parent? Having to work full-time and being away from him so much. I still haven't completely adjusted and am still holding out hope that when my husband graduates (about 1/12 years to go) that I will be able to at least work part-time.
Breastfeeding was also very rough going for us, but we're still hanging in there.
How I'm Doing: Fine.
Pictures:<
no recent ones. was going to upload a video, but of course, I'm not allowed to have free minutes to myself on the computer, so now I must go tend to him.

Baby's Name: Kaiden
How old is Baby now?: 8 months
Baby's size?: about 21 lbs
Baby is eating (how much/how often/new items): This week he had spaghetti, cantaloupe, and today at my grandma's he had mashed potatoes and grave (KFC) and diet root beer (she gave him a couple sips "it's sugar and caffeine free" she says :)
What is Baby up to these days?: getting over yet another cold. poor baby, it's pitiful watching him trying to nurse w/ his nose all stopped up.
Recent Milestones?: almost clapping if that's a milestone. he's so fun to just watch.
How I'm Doing: good, had some frustrations this week with his cold. I was up most of the night Monday and Tuesday then going to work all day. Plus I can't even count how many times he bit me while trying to eat b/c he couldn't breath. Made me a little gun shy for a couple days.

I'm jumping on the Britax car seat bandwagon. I was going to get one from our local AAA which sells car seats for $50 ($25 if you're on Medicaid). But after making a comment to my husband that people were spending over $200 on a car seat, he said "that doesn't sound bad." Plus after reading the reviews, it makes complete since safety wise. I want to get the Boulevard. Does anyone know if they are compatible in a 2001 Dodge Stratus?
This is a message from Kaiden:

(It probably says, my mouth freekin' hurts...how long does it take to get these teeth in.)
Last night was rough, he would sleep for what felt like 5 minutes then wake up screaming. I just had to let him cry a few times while I wrapped my arms around him. I was at a complete loss on what to do for him. How have/are you handling your teething ones? Any tips? Should I be giving him some Tylenol regularly?

Just with in the last week and a half you are:
-pulling yourself up to standing
-passing objects from one hand to the other
-banging two objects together
-going from laying to sitting up all by yourself
-cutting two teeth
-making "indian" noises with your fist
Today nana came over and watched you while we went to the store. You guys had a good time!

Nana and Pops gave you your own keyboard

Nana thought maybe your tongue was broken since this is what it looked like the whole time she was here. Actually, that's what it's looked like for about a week now :)

Do babies growth spurt at 5 months? I thought it was 6, but this is how my day has been:
nurse, play, be cranky, nurse, nap, nurse, be cranky, nurse, nap, play, be cranky, poop up our back, be cranky, nurse, nap.
